We’re at the end of our Fangirl journey and we can’t quite believe it! It has been so good to spend time with this text and unpick our own beliefs about identity, and fandom, over the last ten weeks. To wrap things up, we stretch ourselves to look at chapters 37-38 throught the theme of fame.
Cath finally begins writing her story. They finish the year the same way it began, with Levi in her dorm room, being obnoxiously charming. Cath reads the final Simon Snow book out loud to Levi.

S4 Episode 9 - Creation (Fangirl)
Mar 3, 2022
Mar 3, 2022

We’re both “creatives” so we really get stuck into the theme of creation this week. What is creation? Making something out of nothing! Making something out of something! But isn’t trying to understand your existence through relating a narrative a kind of creation too? We unpack all this as we read chapters 33-36 of Fangirl.
Levi is sad about a test he bombed. Cath lies to Professor Piper about how her story is going. Nick is back to cause misery. Reagan continues to be amazing. There are difficult conversations, an argument and a love confession. It’s all coming together as we prepare to say goodbye to these great characters!

Wait, what is this?
We're Jenn D and Jen V, and we're are getting up close and personal with our favourite books through a committed practice. Why? Because we want to develop a closer understanding of a text, ourselves, and each other. This is about the magic of storytelling, the power of always being open to learning, and the joy of honouring friendship despite distance, pandemics, and other pesky obstacles.
