One Shot - The Fall (Film)

This is our first one shot episode! We’re taking a break in between our seasons to spend some quality time with our favourite pieces of media, to see what we can learn when we treat them as sacred texts. In this episode, we’re reading Tarsem Singh's 2006 film The Fall through the themes of innocence and despair.
Content warning: The Fall is a film that portrays suicide ideation and one suicide attempt on screen (through overdose of morphine pills). If this is too heavy for you, go ahead and skip this one! Look after yourselves.

This is our last episode with Neverwhere, and gosh, it’s been a journey! Richard, Door and the Marquis recover at the Blackfrairs Abbey. Richard is knighted by the Earl for defeating the beast of London, and Door uses the key he won during the Ordeal to send him home. Richard returns to his life in London Above. It’s everything he wanted… but he isn’t happy. So, now what?

S2 Episode 9 - Heroism (Neverwhere)

We’re storming towards the end this week as we read chapters 17 and 18 through the theme of heroism. Islington needs Door to use the Blackfrairs key to open the door of their prison, so they can stage a coup on Heaven. They uses Richard as leverage to compel her to do so. Desperate, Richard and the Marquis play Croup and Vandemar off against Islinton, and things get wild.

The Marquis shows up in the nick of time but Hunter betrays them, and Door is captured by Croup and Vandemar. They all make their way into the Labyrinth where Hunter, Richard and the Marquis are attacked by the Beast of London.
